Summary
For many years, video game creator David Pepin has fantasized about killing his obese wife Alice. When Alice, highly allergic to peanuts, is found dead with peanuts in her mouth, David becomes the number one suspect. Did David poison Alice? The formerly incarcerated Dr. Sam Sheppard, now a detective, investigates Alice's death.
Critique
A complex, multilayered, yet rewarding read. This first novel is part murder mystery and part social commentary about marriage. Interesting use of Sam Sheppard as a character. Recommend.
