Summary
Laura Grey has two employers. She is governess for Andre Jaouen, a widower with access to high levels of French police information, and she is a spy for the Pink Carnation, who would also like access to high levels of French police information. Soon after beginning her assignment, Laura finds herself in the position to assist both employers so that they will wind up helping each other. If she succeeds, there may be a happy ending. If she fails, the guillotine may take them all.
Critique
Another winning entry into The Pink Carnation series. The characters are charming, and the Paris setting is entertaining and fresh. Highly recommended read.
