Summary
When single mother and artist Melissa Fordham is brutally murdered in the small town of Oak Knoll, California, her young daughter Haley, still in critical condition, may be able to identify the killer. No one in the area knows who Haley's father is. Former teacher and child psychologist Ann Navarre Leon and her new husband, a retired FBI profiler, take over Haley's care and become targets of the killer.
Critique
Sequel to Deeper Than the Dead, but it can stand alone. You'll welcome the return of the characters from the first book as well as the quick pacing and a story with lots of plot twists that will keep you guessing until the last page.
