Summary
A dying woman contacts the presumed father of her soon-to-be-born child and designates him as guardian. The young man must then wrestle with an abiding character flaw as well as the added and unfamiliar challenges of parenthood. It is auspicious for him and the newborn child to have the nurturing support of family, friends, and neighbors.
Critique
This Gaelic version of It Takes a Village will not fail to charm and engage its readers--whether they be regular fans of Binchy or greenhorns newly arrived on her turf. Highly recommend.
