Summary
Spoiled city-girl 16-year-old Tamara Goodwin goes with her grieving mother to live in the country after her father's suicide. They move into the gatehouse where relatives Arthur and Rosaleen Kilsaney reside next door to a mysterious crumbling castle. While her distraught mother is bed-bound, a bored Tamara hops in the local bookmobile and emerges with a blank diary. The next time she opens this diary, she sees, written in her own hand, her future. Can her glimpse at the future help her change her past? Or do some family secrets really run too deep to change?
Critique
This modern fairy tale has a clever premise and makes for a quick read. A great book to take along on vacation.
