Summary
Nick, a successful British attorney, is stunned by an ex-girlfriend's charge that he is a shallow person. As he frets over this accusation, his cantankerous aging parents loom into his life again. Nick has successfully ignored them for 20 years. A weekend discussion with an old friend dredges up more uncomfortable truths about himself. Will Nick be able to deal with the turmoil in his life, or will he continue to skate gracefully over its surface?
Critique
A thoughtful, humorous, and biting commentary on one man and his many unsatisfying relationships. Recommend.
