Summary
Mystery writer/thief for hire Charlie Howard goes to Venice to get straight and finish his next novel, but when his lucky charm, a framed and signed first edition of "The Maltese Falcon" is stolen before his very eyes, Charlie can't write without it. In order to reclaim his most-prized possession, Charlie must resort to burglary, something he swore to his agent, Victoria, that he was through with. Whatever is a good thief to do?
Critique
This fourth Charlie Howard mystery is just as satisfying as the others in this smart and clever series. Set in the enchanting city of Venice, this installment is downright romantic. Charlie continues to be his usual charming and self-deprecating self and readers will want his stories to continue long into the future. Recommend.
