Summary
Twenty-year-old Odd Thomas is a fry cook in the small desert town of Pico Mundo, CA. He has a gruesome secret. He sees dead people and other ghastly creatures whose presence foretell disaster. Sensing a terrible tragedy is about to strike and not knowing who to trust, Odd must use his mysterious abilities to avert a catastrophe.

Critique
First entry in the "Odd Thomas" series. Odd himself is quite charming but has to deal with some truly frightening characters. The dialogue is intelligent and amusing and the settings are authentic, everyday small-town America. Recommend.
