Summary
Carter and Sadie Kane are back for a final showdown with Apophis, the giant chaos snake that is threatening to destroy the world. There is still hope to defeat him once and for all, but it appears that The House of Life is already in a state of chaos. Magicians are on the brink of civil war, the gods are divided, and their best hope of survival depends on an ancient spell that is being protected by a psychotic ghost.
Critique
The final installment of the Kane Chronicles is a roller coaster of a thrill ride. Complex Egyptian mythology is demystified by an expert storyteller. Epic battles, good vs. evil, a hint of romance, and Riordan's trademark humor combine in this suspenseful and satisfying series conclusion. Highly recommend.
