Summary
Bernadette, wife of a Microsoft executive and mother to her 15-year-old daughter Bee, has gone missing. Once a rising star architect, the unconventional Bernadette has lost her vision somewhere between moving out of L.A. and raising her child. Feeling crushed by the competitive motherhood scene in Seattle, she's become somewhat agoraphobic. When confronted by her husband, Bernadette disappears, without a trace.
Critique
This novel's format, a scrapbook containing email correspondence, interoffice school memos, letters, and FBI documents which Bee uses to attempt to find Bernadette, adds to the originality of this fabulous book. A laugh out loud book about mothers and daughters and reconnecting to oneself. Highly recommend.
