Summary
Single mother and lawyer Kate Baron is overcome with grief and fear that she failed her daughter after 15-year-old Amelia commits suicide at her school. When Kate receives an anonymous text saying that Amelia didn't jump, a desperate Kate works with the police to uncover the truth. Was it suicide or was Amelia murdered?
Critique
Fast-paced but disturbing with all of the twists and turns in the plot. Kate is not the most likeable character but yet, the reader feels compelled to finish the book to learn all of Amelia's story. Recommended reading. The style of writing and contents will also appeal to teens.
