Summary
In the summer of 1973 college student Devin Jones takes a job as a carny in a North Carolina amusement park. Joyland is home to a colorful cast of characters, including the ghost of a murdered girl. Devin has never seen the ghost, but that doesn't stop him from digging around the unsolved case.
Critique
Joyland is touching coming-of-age story with a hint of spookiness. Full of Southern charm and 1970's nostalgia, this is another fantastic offering from a master storyteller.
