Summary
Ari is a 15-year-old loner. He is angry about his brother in prison and his parent's refusal to talk about it. Dante is a confident, out-going, know-it-all. When they meet at the pool, it is not friendship at first sight, but as the summer progresses a special bond develops between the boys. It is through this friendship that they both discover and accept the truths about themselves.
Critique
This quiet book is beautifully written and entirely character driven. Poignant, philosophical, and free from cliche, this book perfectly describes families, friends, and first loves.
