Summary
Eli and Charles Sisters are notorious guns for hire working for the Commodore. Their current job takes them on the long and dusty trail from Oregon City to Sacramento, California in search of Hermann Kermit Warm. Along the way Eli, who does not share his brother's love of whiskey, women, and killing, begins to question his career choice.
Critique
This western noir novel pays homage to classic westerns through a colorful cast of characters who convey the violence, lust and greed associated with the gold rush era. The humor and philosophical musings are an entirely unexpected, but welcome treat. Not your typical western, this is a story of brotherhood, blood ties, and redemption.
