Summary
Nick Magruder, a video-game millionaire, returns to Adelaide, Oklahoma. He was bullied in school and plans to get even using his wealth and the power it brings. Bailey Ruth is an ambassador for Heaven's Department of Good Intentions. Nick's Aunt Dee interrupts normal heavenly procedures and Bailey Ruth is dropped off near Nick's house without her special powers. Bailey Ruth immediately saves Nick from being shot. Nick is in love with Jan, and her mother is having an affair with Cole Clanton, one of Nick's worst tormentors in high school. When Cole is killed Nick becomes the prime suspect, and Bailey Ruth and Aunt Dee work to clear his name.
Critique
Aunt Dee and Bailey Ruth are a fun team. Bailey Ruth likes to push the limits of the "Precepts", rules to be followed while on earth. Dee does not. The fourth novel featuring Bailey Ruth Raeburn keeps the reader guessing until the very end.
