Summary
Catholic cop Sean Duffy is an outsider at the mostly Protestant RUC during the Troubles in Belfast, when sectarian violence plagues the city. He and his colleagues are called in to investigate when there are a series of murders in the city that seem committed by a serial killer. But are they? Or are they connected to the chaos that surrounds them?
Critique
Book 1 of the Troubles Trilogy, this mystery is both gritty and funny, with a great lead character and a strong sense of place. A great way to learn about the conflicts and controversies during the Troubles in Northern Ireland from the point of view of an insider.
