Summary
Park and Eleanor are teenagers who feel like they just don't fit in, but when they meet each other they are sure of one thing--that they belong together. But not even the purest first love can prevent Park from feeling like he can't compete with his younger brother or keep Eleanor from being bullied by classmates or having to deal with her abusive step-father and miserable home life.
Critique
A wonderful and heartbreaking book about the power of first love, set over the course of a single year of high school and told in alternating chapters from both Park's and Eleanor's perspectives. This timeless story reminds the reader how high school can be equal parts hilarious, horrible, and magical. A 2014 Printz Honor Book.
