Summary
Ali, so nicknamed because of his boxing hobby, is a young teen from the "non-Cosby" part of Brooklyn. His single mom works two jobs, his dad floats in and out, but everyone in the neighborhood knows he is a good kid. When he and his best friends get invited to an illegal party, trouble finds them.
Critique
A refreshing change of pace from your typical "troubled teen" story. A strong, character-driven debut with plenty of diversity. Ali and his family are wonderful!
