Summary
Donald Langham formally worked a detective agency but is now making a living writing mysteries instead of solving them. Although the investigative work was quite some time ago, when his friend and literary agent asks for help with a "delicate matter", Donald thinks he's up for the challenge. His agent's assistant wants to help, which seems to be leading toward an unexpected romance. Then blackmail turns to murder. One by one, friends and colleagues are being murdered in gruesome fashion, and it looks like he could be next.
Critique
Well-written overall, with a couple explicit moments, the mystery had me guessing to the end. Setting the story in 1950s era London was definitely part of the appeal. Am ready to read the next one!
