Summary
Born into a family of "hosszu eletek," an immortal supernatural human race of people who can alter their appearances, Jakab is ostracized by his people after he commits a violent crime. On the run in the late 1800s, he meets and falls in love with a woman whose rejection compels him to chase down her ancestors throughout the following centuries. In the present day, Hannah Wilde arrives in a remote cottage in Wales with her critically injured husband and their young daughter. Convinced that Jakab has murdered her father and is on his way to find them, Hannah will do anything to end her family's legacy of fear and bloodshed.
Critique
This supernatural thriller moves back and forth between the 19th and 20th centuries. Unexpected twists will keep you turning the pages and the fright-level might cause a few sleepless nights. A fast-paced suspenseful ride.
