Summary
A depressed and introverted teenager, Anna Franklin, is at her lowest when the Goldschmidts, a family of religious cult members, move in next door. Anna is immediately drawn to their unshakable belief in the coming "end of days." Soon, Anna is convinced that she's been saved, begins to preach fire and brimstone and is prepared to make life-altering decisions based on her new-found faith.
Critique
This unusual book, where religious belief becomes obsession, was well-written and hard to put down. Sometimes disturbing, sometimes melodramatic, Anna's story is morally and psychologically complex--like the inner workings of many a troubled teenage mind.
