Summary
Maisie Dobbs is asked by British intelligence to travel to Munich to retrieve Leon Donat who is being held prisoner at Dachau. The Nazis have promised to release him, for a price, to a family member. Maisie impersonates Edwina Donat, Leonís daughter, in order to accomplish the task. Of course there are all kinds of complications. Maisie has also been asked to convince Elaine Otterburn to leave her Nazi love and return home to England and her young son.
Critique
The 12th entry in the Maisie Dobbs series is an enjoyable read but a little darker than others in the series.
