Summary
Swedish immigrant Lordor Nordstrom buys farmland in Missouri and plots out the town of Elmwood Springs in 1889. He even donates property for the community cemetery, Still Meadows. When people pass away and are buried at Still Meadows, they can talk to each other and are aware of what's happening in town, at least for a time.
Critique
A very unusual ending to a charming book.
