Summary
Successful author Alan Conway has just delivered his latest Atticus Pünd novel to his editor Susan Ryeland. Susan promptly devours it that weekend, only to discover that the manuscript is missing the resolution to its mystery. Before Susan returns to work on Monday, Conway himself is found dead of an apparent suicide. The timing is too much of a coincidence for mystery fanatic Susan, who plays detective and investigates his death.
Critique
This mystery contains a book within a book--first is the classic whodunnit, starring a Poirot-like Pünd who investigates two deaths in a small English village; what follows is an unraveling of the mystery of Conway's modern-day, 'real' death. Perfect for fans of Agatha Christie.
