Summary
In the midst of a snowstorm NYU professor, Richard Bowmaster, accidentally hits the car driven by Evelyn Ortega, an undocumented Guatemalan nanny. Evelyn is driving her employer’s car when the accident occurs. Later Evelyn shows up at Richard’s home terribly upset. Richard asks his tenant Lucia Maraz, another NYU professor, to help sort things out. There’s a body in the trunk of the car, and Evelyn is sure her employer killed the woman. After much soul searching, Richard and Lucia decide to assist Evelyn in disposing of the car and the body.
Critique
A mixture of murder mystery, love story, and the retelling of awful events each of the three main characters experienced in their lives. An unusual story.
