Summary
It's Ophelia de Luce's wedding day when the couple's cake-cutting reveals a severed finger buried within its pastry. Ophelia's sister Flavia intends to investigate, but is interrupted by her new private investigation firm's first customer--Mrs. Anastasia Prill, who wants Flavia and her partner Dogger to look into some missing letters. When Mrs. Prill ends up dead, the game is afoot.
Critique
This is the tenth and perhaps final book in the wonderful and unforgettable Flavia de Luce mystery series. Readers will want to start with "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie" and see Flavia grow from precocious youth into a young woman whose thirst for knowledge and the solving of crimes never is quenched.
