Summary
When a divorce lawyer is found murdered after a client's ex-wife threatens him, the police call in ex-detective Daniel Hawthorne to consult. Hawthorne, in turn, brings along his biographer, mystery writer Anthony Horowitz, who is desperate to solve the case before Hawthorne.
Critique
This fast-paced, entertaining read is a sequel to "The Word is Murder," but can be read independently. Like its predecessor, this novel provides plenty of meta-fictional fun, with the author writing himself into the story as a character and referring within the novel to his real-life writing endeavors.
