Summary
Recent parolee Alyosius Archer finds work and then trouble finds him after he is implicated in two murders involving a mysterious woman and his parole officer. This is the first in what appears to be a new series for Baldacci.
Critique
Distinctly in the murder mystery genre, Archer's reticent personality and cryptic manner makes this inadvertent gumshoe hard to warm-up to. Hopefully, future novels will flesh-out this character and make the story more engaging.
